Daniel Thompson

Faculty Adviser

Daniel Thompson has served as the adviser to The Gazette since 2021. His role at the paper is to train reporters and editors, ensure the editorial team has all the tools they need to publish their stories, and act as a knowledge-resource throughout every stage of the news writing process. As a state employee, Thompson is bound by laws prohibiting state censorship of the free press. Therefore, he does not tell the student reporters what to write or what not to write, limiting his involvement to suggesting story ideas and warning students of legal and ethical issues as they arise.

Story ideas, opinion editorials, calendar events and advertising requests can be sent to dthom34@langston.edu. You may follow The Gazette on Instagram @lu_gazette, or sign up for our free newsletter.

The Gazette serves as the student voice of Langston University. It is produced within the Department of Communication as a teaching tool and local news source for the campus community. The views and opinions expressed within are those of the writers whose names appear with the articles and do not necessarily represent the views of Langston University.
